RTX 3090 Ti buyer gets a box of sand from Amazon Brazil

In the past week, Amazon has basically screwed up two customers buying graphic cards. The most intriguing case involves a customer that bought a costlier RTX 3090 Ti graphics card. According to the report, the Brazillian user acquired the super-expensive graphics card and receive a box full of sand. Another customer bought the RTX 3090 but received the RTX 3070. However, it’s still much better than getting a box of sand.

Amazon Brazil sent a super expensive sandbox instead of RTX 3090 Ti

The Amazon Brazil user Mauricio Takeda took to TikTok to show how his dreams with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Ti were buried. In fact, Amazon sent a bunch of useless things and a lot of sand to help him to bury his dreams with the graphics card. He didn’t receive anything like a graphics card. Instead, he just got a few jars and full sand in the box.

Mauricio paid BRL 14,500 ($2637,23) for the Palit GeForce RTX 3090 Ti GameRock Edition. Now, the price of the graphics card is usually between $999 to $1499. However, the Brazilian VAT is very high making the GPU even more expensive. After receiving the package, Mauricio Takeda notice something was wrong and had his wife record an unboxing video next to him. The goal was to send evidence to Amazon right at the unboxing video. Takeda quickly uploaded the video to Tiktok. The contact with Amazon support did not work because the supplier provided him with a link to delete his own Amazon account. Takeda eventually filed a lawsuit in consumer court that made national headlines in Brazil. Amazon has since stepped in to address the issue.

Amazon sent a RTX 3070 to another user

The second client was Patrick J Kennedy from ServertheHome. Patrick bought a new EVGA GeForce RTX 3090 graphics card from Amazon. The graphics card box he bought showed the normal model number. However, the graphics card inside was a completely different model.

Amazon

The user exclaimed: “I was cheated by Amazon. I bought a new RTX 3090 graphics card, and the box was damaged when it arrived, and it turned out to be an RTX 3070 inside”.

Let’s see if Amazon will sort out these problems and send users their RTX 3090 Ti before RTX 4090 pops out.
