My Gmail notifications are not appearing on my lock screen nor on my home screen. My WhatsApp notifications from an individual person are not coming up on my lock screen. Oppo A96

Title says it all. My Oppo A96 is not showing me notifications from WhatsApp or Gmail. I have activated the notification settings as well. Please advise
