Motorola Edge 20: Everything you need to know

It might run slightly later than that though – TechRadar reports that the phone will launch in India either at the end of July or in the first half of August.

This could be due to the fact that a certification listing was spotted in China recently, showing multiple models presumed to be the Edge 20 and the Edge 20 Pro. With the phones already at the stage of certification, it can only be a short time until they are officially released.

The first Motorola Edge was announced in April 2020, then made available at the end of May. Obviously, since then the world has seen massive disruption through Covid, so shuffling the release schedule back a few months makes sense.

How much will the Motorola Edge 20 cost?

While we now know a lot about the specs of the upcoming phones, there’s little word on how much they will cost.

The only real pricing rumour we’ve seen is for the standard Edge 20 model, which TechRadar predicts will cost around ₹30,000 in India – around £290/$400.

For reference, the previous Edge generation came in at £549 (approx $755) for the standard model and £725/$999 for the Plus variant.

What are the specs of the Motorola Edge 20?

The leaked listing from Tech Tipster Evan Blass (@Evleaks on Twitter), actually shows three different models, with a regional variant of one, making a total of four devices.

These go by the codenames Berlin, Kyoto and PStar. Judging by the stats, the Kyoto is the base model (which could be called the Edge 20 Lite) then there’s the Berlin (standard Edge 20), and the PStar (Edge 20 Pro). The listing shows two version of the Berlin: one Global, the other on Verizon in North America.

Here’s how they break down:

Further reports on Android Authority and other sites show a slightly different combination of components in the Edge 20 and Edge 20 Pro models.

Citing listings from Chinese certification site TENAA, the Edge 20 will feature the same general build as the one reported by Evan Blass, but will include an OLED display, an extra 12MP memory option and a smaller 3,760mAh battery. Dimensions are also said to be 163.5 x 76.2 x 7.1mm, with a weight of 167g.

The Pro, which Android Authority calls the Plus, will again have an OLED display, a 12GB memory option, and a 4,230mAh battery. Dimensions are 163.3 x 76.1 x 7.9mm, and weighs in at 190g.
